Splash has the potential to be an excellent player. But the usefulness is highly limited as I watch mostly foreign films. PGS subtitle support is a must. I see VLC player is figuring it out. The playback is not smooth and the player pauses, starts, and stops when you advance the slider, but at least it will now display PGS subs without crashing.

The thing is open source so I think it's legal if you peek and see how they are doing it.

Splash PRO supports PGS. THis feature is not planned to be included in free Lite version.
