Re: Splash PRO 1.7.0

i think, it would be better if Mirillis team focus on just one player!! Adding different features to Splash Pro instead of releasing other products that we just heard about them ( not released till now ) may be a good solution!

12 march 2011, this team releases Splash Pro 1.6.0 and about two weeks later ( 31 March 2011 ) releases the 1.7.0 version!
what is the meaning of this action?!

plz tell us something about the future of this Player and what are you going to do with other versions?!!

tnx

Hi,

version 1.9 does not mean, the next will be v2.0.
after version 1.9 is 1.10, 1.11, 1.12 etc...
Its just the versioning politics.

Version v1.9 should be older than v1.11/1.27/1.56/etc , i don't know any software company that uses any other method.
Even Mirillis already used version numbers like v1.4.1, so how can you use them again?...

On this version, still has not work hardware deinterlacing (ATI 5770 Win7 10.12 drivers H.264/AVC 1080i/60i source in mkv) - On the version Splash PRO 1.4.0 all was excellent.

why is it that the CPU utilization will never go above 75-80%? why can't it use up 100% of the CPU when necessary? its just wasting power.

Ghost Helios and all Mirillis Team
You should better llisten to to customers requests.
Why don't you listen to cutomers? it's already version 1.7 and still no BOLD subtitles or IDX+SUB subtitle format support?
you have not added subtitle improvements at all on the latest versions.

for IDX/SUB support you can just add vsfilter.dll file (DirectShow filter to display image subtitles / IDX+SUB combo)
to the installation directory and add an option in the GUI to register/unregister it to splash pro (no license problem since it's free filter.)
BOLD subtitle is also easy fix...

SUBTITLES:
1) BOLD subtitles.
2) IDX/SUB format support, it's MUST-have - a lot of subtitles come in IDX+SUB format and Splash simply can't view them.(they take advantage of all options of Vsfilter/Directvobsub by Gabest)
3) ADD the option to change subtitle size by numbers (and not only by the pre-defined sizes).
4) ADD the option to prefer external subtitles over internal (like if MKV has eng internal subtitle and external fr srt subtitile - it will load the external and not the internal if the option is checked in the settings)
VIDEO:
1) ADD FLV support (if it will not possible dut to license problems then please add option to use external decoder for FLV to be used withe Splash player).
GUI:
1) ADD an option to Associate file types to Splash thorough the GUI settings.
AUDIO:
2) ADD playlist support for music and no logo for music files.
thank you.

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry, but I find all this complaining about what the Mirillis team should & shouldn't be doing is starting to annoy me.

Come on, give Mirillis a break !

I have used software that costs $15,000+ that was lucky to see an update yearly, yet some of you complain you are being ignored when your requests aren't implemented in a $20 program that has been updated over 15 times in 9 months.

I am very pleased that the developers are so actively developing & passing-on improvements as they happen, rather than waiting to do a major upgrade. I'm sure they'll get to your requests... just show some patience.
Regards,

Phil.

vsfilter licence is free only for free players, they must write a filter from his own hand
