Skyrim Crash and Active Desktop problems.

Mon Sep 30, 2013 11:04 pm

I very recently purchased a copy of Mirillis Action! and thought I wouldn't be having any problems with it.
I was quite sadly mistaken to think that.

I've been having three problems with this software that has left me very frustrated.
1. Trying to record game play with skyrim.
2. Getting anything to record with Active desktop.
3. And getting anything to record with active desktop region.

My PC specs:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz
RAM: 8.2 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit
Video Card: GeForce GTX 650
Pixel Shader version 5.0
Vertex Shader version 5.0
Dedicated Video RAM 1.0 GB
Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio
Free Disk Space: 667.1 GB

Thing is, a friend of mine has lower specs than me and has no problems using this software
His specs:
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E7200 @ 2.53GHz
RAM: 4.6 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Edition (build 9200), 64-bit
Video Card: GeForce 9800 GT
Pixel Shader version 4.0
Vertex Shader version 4.0
Dedicated Video RAM 1.0 GB
Sound Card: HD Webcam C510
Free Disk Space: 164.3 GB

I've gone through a lot of different forum topics on here as well as elsewhere. I've had problems with skyrim and recording/streaming in the past, but not to the point where it would crash. The other programs I have tried were Open Broadcaster and Xsplit. All other games I own run just fine with this software, but skyrim and the other two recording options just seem to not want to work.
